upgrade to OS X 10.2.2 or higher (that way cds can be read in XP as well) then just burn in the finder, like this:
1. set the cds & dvds preferences in sys. prefs to 'ask what to do' for 'when you insert a blank cd/dvd'
2. throw in a blank cd, click 'open in finder'
3. drag the files you want onto the cd (literally)
4. drag the cd icon on the desktop to the trash.

and thats all she wrote ;)
