I have a iMac G5 (fresh new in its use), and I want to make a one on one copy of a DVD, the original DVD has 7.6 GB of info, so I bought a virgin DVD Double Layer, but when i run the copy and TOAST ask me for the blank DVD and I insert it, the mac says that its not a blank DVD, but the DVD is new... how can I now (instead of the manual, cause doesn´t say anything bout it) if my DVD burner supports a double layer..? is there an utility with the OS that tells me that?

Your DVD recorder does not support Dual Layer so you will have to compress the DVD before you burn it on a standard DVD disc.

there are external dvd burners you can buy to do this quickley and efficiently, also there is software by roxio called popcorn that is great at compressing files and helping with dual layer burning.
