My internal cd/dvd drive in my ibook keeps
spitting out the cd's when I try to run them.
I think its done so I baught a external usb
iomega predator cd burner to use in leu
of. My problem.....I can load in the new
usb drive but I cant seem to find a
program in my computer to identify or
burn a cd. I have itunes 2 (which seems
to be missing any burning software)and I
also have toast titanium (which only runs
on os 9.2 not os 10.1)
Also, when I try to put a regular music cd
in my new drive, the computer tells me
that apple cant identify with the cd.
Iomega tells me that "disc burn will work"
but that program tells me to drag files into
a disc that wont let files be dragged in(its
basically a promp menu with no program
to back it)
Whats your advice?
How do I tell my computer not to try to use
the internal cd/dvd rom anymore and get
it to identify the new on as the primary cd
player
thanks in advance

Download and install the toast update 5.1.4.
This will fix the 10.1 compatibility issue but you
may want to upgrade the 10.1 to 10.1.5 first.Yes the 5.1.4 works with 10.1 up to 10.2.1 as well
as your 9.2The external should now be recognized.
In Toast choose preferences.
Change the preferred drive for reading audio to
the external. The internal drive should be looked at by a tech.
