Hi I have damaged my imac screen by
spraying it with foam cleaning solution
and its seeped down into the LCD
display. Anyone know where I can get a
new screen without going to apple as
they will charge me a fortune? All i need
is the LCD panel, I can fit it myself. Or is
anyone selling one? Thanks
Jon

if you get a new one, then it will be expensive. And it'll probably be a little while before alot of Imac G4 parts start showing up on ebay...alot of people havent broken theirs yet.

Yup, I took a look myself, nothing on eBay.

Look on Yahoo! then. I know they have several
suppliers of Macintosh parts. Hell, if I can find as
odd of a part as a rib frame for a first edition G4
PowerBook for as little as I did, I'm sure you can find
a monitor for a computer that came out nearly a year
and a half ago.

Hi I have found a screen for sale but the
one that has come out of my imac is a
Samsung screen, the one for sale is
made by LG. Will it work on my imac?
from the photo it looks like the plugs and
things are the same but im not sure.
Does anyone here know much about
imac screens? Thanks, Jon

If the plugs are *EXACTLY* the same, and the screens are *EXACTLY* the same spec, then yes, it will work.

Does anyone know if an LG imac screen
has exactly the same plugs and spec as
a Samsung imac screen?
Thanks

That's for you to figure out, and for the rest of us to know once you find out ;)

And it's an impossible question to answer if you're going to be that vague about it. What model numbers are the two screens? Samsung and LG both make about 30 different LCD panels...

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. Do you even know the model numbers? Until you do, this thread isn't worth pursuing.

Now, contact LG and Samsung and ask if those two screens have the same specs.
