I have used superduper to make a mirror copy of an older OS X TIger system, from an old G4 DP 800mhz system (no longer used) to a partition of my firewire drive. Supposedly, it should be bootable. I would like to boot from this system on my ibook G4 so that I can work with files from my old DP system. The old system is no longer hooked up and does not have its own monitor, so it would be easier for me to work with the files (taking what I need and then deleting the rest) by booting the system from my ibook G4. The ibook G4 is running Leopard.
The problem is my Tiger system on the Firewire does not show up when I boot from the iBook holding down "option," so there appears to be no way to boot that system from my iBook.
Does anyone know if there is anyway for me to get my ibook to recognize the system on my firewire drive as bootable? Or is it going to be impossible for me to work with this system via my iBook?
Thanks for your help.

Does your Mac recognize the disc as a startup disk in system prefs? IF the disk is mounted you should be able to select it as startup device/disk and boot from it if it is truly bootable.
