What files are you having a "bad file format" error with? What do you expect "markztools" to do about it?

I downloaded a bunch of mp3's that are in the BAD file format, when I opened them in windows media player the tracks were distorted and skiped every split second. What do I need to download in order to listen to them? What's markztools?
