AVI/Indeo in QuickTime

I have some old avi files, compressed with the Indeo
compressor. To play these, I use QuickTime in
Classic mode, since Indeo doesn´t exist for OS X. It
works fine, until I inflate the movie to double size
- then only 6-8 pictures pr. sec (out of 25) are
shown.

Why is that? More RAM seems like an obvious
solution, but on the other hand - a Win box with a
Celeron 500 and 128 MB RAM has no trouble
showing the movie in full screen, even directly from
a CD. Any theories?

Ja, but QuickTime running under Classic isn't exactly the epitome of speed, and the video card has a lot to do with that as well.
