avi movie w/ no sound

I downloaded a large video file, and when I go to play it the sound doesn't work. It works on my pc. I think I need a Codec but where from and what one? I have already download the Divx codec. please help me!

I've run into this quite a few times. The reason you have no sound is that you have the newer codec, and an older one was used to incode the avi. It happens a lot. THere are two things you can do.
A) You can find an older version of the codec in some search engine or
B) Use this viewer http:// www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/5758 - It works VERY well, and I use it for most of my large avi watching.
