I recently decided to reformat my harddrive in order to do a clean install of 10.2 on my system. However, everytime I try and install the os, i get "there were errors in the installation" and it prompts me to restart and try again. Only once has this installation successfully worked, however, i was away and unable to continue with disc 2 leaving 1.1 gigs of the 1.9 gig total installation. Now, the issue is that my harddrive won't mount, and disk utility doesnt recognize it period. In order for it to work, i set the environment in open firmware and tell the machine to boot-device. But I still get the errors. My last resort was to go back to 9 and forget the clean install idea. Unfortunantly, during the installation, it says the install engine has unexpectedly quit. It apparently continues to install however, because everything in my system folder appears to be there, but when i restart, my harddrive is unmounted. How do i get my startup drive to consistently remain mounted?
