Comment:

2 questions please. :)

1.) I can't seem to play asf files on my mac I've tried quicktime
and even Windows media player - and still nothing. :( Any
suggestions?

2.) I have a old G3 desktop (biege) running 8.6.1 I once tried
to upgrade to OX10 and almost lost everything *( I
eventually found out that OSX wouldn't run well, if at all on my
computer, so I went back to 8.6.1. There are so many
programs I can't use! :( I'd like to upgrade at least to OS9. Is
this do-able? what are the pros and cons (if any)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

An upgrade to OS 9 is highly recommended as it's more stable and substantially faster than previous OS versions.

Make sure you upgrade all the way to 9.2.2.
