Hi Folks, Thanks for the previous responses, I have one more question that I need addressed.
I have MAC OS 7.5.5 and in the upper left hand corner there is a menu with the Apple logo... How do I delete programs from the menu that have already been uninstalled? I dragged my AOL files to the trash can and emptied it, but it is still showing in the Apple menu.

You have to delete the extension(s) and control panel(s) that goes with the AOL program. Turn the items off in the Extension Manager, then restart and you should be able to drag them to the trash to delete them.
I don't have a system that old to look at, but there should a folder marked something like "Apple Menu Items", inside that you'll find a list of everything in the menu, simply delete the ones you don't want.

Your apple menu drop menu is controlled by the "apple menu items" folder in your system folder. Anything put in this folder will show up under apple menu items on the desktop. You trick I learned a longgggg time ago was to drag and drop the icon for your HD inside of the apple menu items folder, give it a sec, than go to the apple menu items, and you can now browse your entire HD from there without opening up a window.
