How can I display the apple symbol? Is
there an ASCII code for it? In Windows,
for special characters you can hit Alt+#'s
on the numeric keypad - does this work in
mac, too? Surely there are more options
than what's shown in Key Caps?

Use your Key Caps application - it isn't in all fonts, but that'll show you which ones it *is* in. It's option-something, but I forget the something. Key Caps is your friend.

I think Apple Chancery has that symbol, as should Chicago.

Thanks, yes, it's in Chicago. But Key Caps is a mac-specific app - if I use the Chicago font, how do I insert the apple symbol, regardless of the operating system? (like, let's say I was using Windows, then would you say, ask at the Windows forum?, because they'll say, apple symbol? why the hell would you want to insert that piece of crap symbol in a text document?, or if I was using a bbs on a website)

Remember what I said about it not being in all fonts?

Fonts on the Mac are different from fonts on the PC.

And you DID specifically say you are using:
OS: 9.2.2
CPU/Ram: G4/512Mb.

A web search may turn up a VECTOR file of that graphic,
which would not be a FONT, but be platform independent.

If you have the font on a Windows computer you can use the Character Map program. It is similar to Key Caps on Mac.
