Hi just wondering if it is possible to use a new apple pro keyboard on a pc. Well, I'm sure that the keys would work, but is it possible to reprogram the control/option keys to respond like the windows/alt keys? And what about the two usb ports, will they work too? Perhaps someone has made drivers for it....

Thanks

You would be better off posting this to a
PC board. If nayone would know if an
Apple keyboard can be reprogramed, a
PC tech would.

These are requirements from Apple to
use this keyboard;

* An Apple computer with built-in USB
(Universal Serial Bus) and Mac OS 9.0.4
or later.

The drivers are built into the MacOS.

I am using microconnectors keyboard on a pc and it works just fine - it is designed for the mac, but since its a USB keyboard, its compatible. Apple's keyboard will work as well.

iMac/G3 USB keyboard on PC, no problem.
Windows detects it as 'Apple USB' keyboard,
and away you go.

It's of much higher quality than most PC keyboard, and looks infinitely cooler.
You get a 2-port USB hub, also!

Note:
No END key
Numeric keypad "." = DEL
Apple key = Left Windows key
No Right Windows key..big deal.
Only 12 F-keys..again..big deal.
Takes some getting used to w/things in different places..but then, so does getting a new laptop. This keyboard is more complete than my IBM Thinkpad's, to put things in perspective.

Hey,
Just saw your post, and since it's been a while since you psted it, figured I might just
reply to you directly:
I bought one of those apple pro keyboard yesterday, and it works fine. Just a few
keys ares misplaced (I've got a latin1 keyboard layout, wich is a bit different from
apple's, especially these symbol keys: º ª ~ ^ + * « » \ |. I mean, these are in the
same place as they were in my 'regular' keyboard, but in apple's they were supposed
to be somewhere else.

Usb ports on keyboard work fine.

Volume and mute keys work fine

Del key works fine (wich is very good, both in win and Linux (also works on
Linux, although not full featured))

Still haven't found Print Screen key!
Could you help me on this one??

Artur Correia
