I am basically wanting to take video camera movies and put them on to dvd. The guy who is doing this for me says he needs apple dvd-r's. He says they are compatible with more dvd players that everyone has to watch dvd movies. He has an apple system, I don't know which one it is. Is this the case? Is there such a thing as apple only DVD-R Discs? If so whats the difference between these and non apple discs?

Hello, I would tend to agree with your guy's claim with Apple DVD-Rs. I'm not certain what the differences are exactly amongst various brands, but some brands have difficulty playing in all environments. In my experience, I've had the best results with either Apple or Panasonic brand DVDRs.

And yes, Apple does sell one specific brand of DVD-R at the Apple Store, but I can't remember who the OEM is.
