Comment:

I am using the apache http server that comes with MOS X and I have installed mysql database too.

The problem is when I create a connection to a database in Dreamweaver MX it says 'error 405 method not allowed'

My Site settings are as follows;

Remote Info:
****************
Access: Local/Network
Remote Folder: MacOSX:Library:WebServer:Documents:

Testing Server:
***************
Server Model: PHP MySQL
Access: FTP
FTP Host: 127.0.0.1
Host Directory: (empty)
Login: ibook
Password: (my password)
Use Passive FTP: Checked
URL Prefix: http://127.0.0.1

When I test the Testing Servers connection it connects fine

I have done this in the past and it has worked, but my hard drive broke and when I reinstalled everything and tried again, it didnt work

what am I doing wrong?
Checklist:
I DO have a user called 'mysql'
I DO have the MySQL 'root' password set
I DO have MySQl started up
I DO have web sharing enabled
I DO have file sharing enabled
Apache IS running
PHP is testing fine

When I make a new database connection i use 'MySQL Connection' (it is the only one I can use for PHP). The settings I use are as follows;

Connection Name: connGlobal
MySQl Server: tried both 127.0.0.1 and localhost
Username: root
Password: (my root password for MySQL)
Database: when I click 'Select' I get the HTTP Error code 405 (see above)

I have a database created in mysql called 'master' and it does have tables in it.

What have I done wrong?

Try tossing Dreamweaver prefs and see if that helps anything.

There's a find application built into the OS.

Use it.

I have trashed the prefs, created a new
site in Dreamweaver MX, and still, HTTP
error 405 Method not allowed, are my
settings correct??? I cannot see where I
have gone wrong as the settings are
identical to what I used first time round?

thanx

Must be a problem with PHP and/or Apache, then. Have you tried running the Repair Privileges utility from Apple?
