Hello All

I need to use my aol account with OS x...
I've managed to install the software booting from OS 9 and it works fine with this last.
If I try to use AOL with OS X the aol software seems not able to detect the modem?

Any suggestions?I need to use it with OS x for networking purposes!

thanks

iMac, beige G3, PowerBook...? There's a reason the "CPU" field is required for all new posts...

What "networking purposes" require the use of AOL? If you're talking about WebSharing, I do believe that's impossible with AOL. At least with their broadband service it is, so I can't imagine the dial-up would be any different. If you want to share access, get a real ISP.

So please elaborate on the "networking purposes".

hey guys

Every single post doesn't answer any of my questions it's just a useless analysis of my specs and softs.

I still need to connect to the internet through AOL and access a network, that can only be accessed using OSX! I am talking about VPN , which runs only on MAC OS X!

How do I run AOL on OS X, until a new AOL version comes out?

That is the problem, please anyone help!

Awfully hard to answer questions you don't ask. There's a beta version of AOL's software for OS X. Grab it from their site.

One word of advice: AOL doesn't like VPNs, at least not VPNs that use IPSec tunnels. They're servers won't allow that connection. Trust me, I know. We're getting a lot of our academic users on the university VPN where I work, and not a single user has been able to connect with AOL. Now, our VPN is set up to not allow split tunneling (which, I'm told, is the safest way to do it), and from what Cisco says, that's the reason that AOL doesn't work. But hey, you have all the answers, right? We're just answering your questions with more questions. Sorry, but any answer you'd get without the right information is only a guess.

Good luck!
