OK, I sign on OK. The AOL start up page comes up fine, I still can open mail but any time I type in an Internet address (www.computing.net etc..) an error window opens up and says www.whatever.com failed to load. I've also tried after get on open up explorer and get the same result. I tried installing another copy of AOL and used it and got the same result.

After logging on to AOL, go to the Apple Menu, Control Panel, TCP/IP. Inside TCP/Ip go to File, Configurations. Highlight AOL then click Make Active. Close the TCP/IP window and save settings if it prompts for it. Then try browsing. I have the same problem, but I just don't use AOL enough to figure out a fix. I have OS 9.1 and AOL 4.0. I think there is an issue with the AOL Link and AOL Enhanced Link extensions. Maybe you should try upgrading to AOL 5.0.
Hope this helps.
