Airport card can't access Interner

I am trying to get a clamshell iBook (OS9.2) with Airport card to get wireless Internet from my Netgear router (DG834G). I already have a Dell PC wirelessly connected with no problems. The iBook shows a good signal and IP address from the router, and the router sees the iBook and has assigned it an IP address, so why can't the laptop access the Internet? Any help please - I have spent days on this - must be something I've overlooked. Is anyone out there using an iBook clamshell with OS9 and connecting to a Netgear router with no problems?

Both wireless card and router will talk to each other, but data will not flow if the router hasn't been told to allow the airport card on the network- so you basically need to configure the router. I would immediately suspect that the router has either a password or, although IPs are assigned, does not have the airport address logged and enabled. Make sure your router isn't wep enabled and then try.

insuficient info re what kind of security/encryption, if any, you have on the router.
OS 9 will only connect with simple WEP security. if that... you should have 9.2.2 on the clamshell. since these iBooks work well with 10.3 this is what you should be running.
