Ladies & Gentlemen,

I just bought an iBook today, also bought an Airport card. I try to configure the airport card to connect to my Linksys WAP Router, but after scanning & finding the (SSID) Network name, the utility asks for the network password. I don't have any idea what that's all about. I tried the password that I usually put to access the internal pages of the router. That did not work. Tried the WEP passphrase, that didn't work. Tried the WEP key, that didn't work.
I was unable to find any help regarding my issue on the Apple site, and the Linksys site. Any help from you will be greatly appreciated.

No, the password for the router config access
won't work. It's apparently asking for the WEP
key. When entering the password on a MAC
using an airport card, I believe you must begin
the entry with $, then the key exactly as it appears
on your router configuration. I know this only
because I spent one frustrating evening doing the
same thing you are doing.

Oh, one other thing...from a fellow Jaguar user.
Do yourself a favor and add more RAM. You'll
love your new iBOOK even more, and you'll get to
see what the new OS can really do. Since there's
only one slot for additional memory, put in as
much as you can afford.

Thank you so much radioboy. I actually added 256MB RAM today. As for the password... copying and pasting the key from the router config page actually worked. I just had to reset the WEP key though...
