Is there a way so that another user apart from me
can login and it will bring up a customised desktop
and dock specifically for that user? i.e. different to
my desktop with my shortcuts etc? How do i do this?
and how do i go about setting up a login screen?
Thanks.

Click your apple, system preferences, Users. You can add a user from there. To switch users, click your apple and Log Out.

Thanks, done that. How do i keep an application
running such as Limewire when the new user
logs in? What i want to do is leave Limewire
downloading in my username but when I logout i
dont want it to close... I want it to keep
downloading. Does anyone know how i can do
this? And i dont want it running as the other user,
just in my name... so can i set Limewire to be an
application that is needed for the mac to run so
that it doesnt close when i logout?

You can't, at least with Jaguar. Logging out of one
user closes all the processes (programs) that that
user has opened up.

Panther (OS 10.3,) when it comes out, has fast user
switching, and it might be able to do what you want
it to.

O.K. thanks, I will wait and see if panther does it.

The other problem I have is I cant get rid of new
users I have made from the list in system
preferences. I highlight them, click delete and it
says warning this will delete users or something. I
click ok and it puts them in deleted users folder
but they have not gone from the list. I have also
deleted the files manually in the users folder. But
they are still in the list. How do i clear that list?
The reason I deleted some was because when i
logged in the screen just stayed blue and the
computer didnt actually go into osx....
