Comment:

I am new to Mac since I recently bought an iBook 800Mhz
G3. I already have a 1.6Ghz Windows XP machine and my
daughter has a 800Mhz Windows ME machine which are
networked together. I am wireless between the iBook and
the network and have been able to share the internet AND
get to both windows machines from my iBook. The
problem I am having is getting to my iBook from either
Windows machine. If I try to "map a network" drive in
Windows, it prompts me for a password. I have tried the
password on my iBook user account but an error message
says, not a recognized password. All I want is to get to
my iBook from Windows.
PS. I do have windows share "activated" on my iBook

Thanks

Hey,

Make sure that the user name that it asks for is your "short name" on the mac. You must use the short name. You can find that by going to the accounts pref pane, in system prefs on the mac. Hope this helps.

I tried that but it still prompts me for the password. I tried the password I use to log into the mac but still nothing.
