Need help, folks. I know NOTHING about MACs. I have a user running 10.4.9 who needs to connect to a Windows 2003 Domain Controller. He's getting an access denied error. Is there anything I can have him try/configure so that he can access this machine?

Any help is much appreciated.

I think Windows 2003 DC is set by default to always encrypt
network connections. The SMB that OS X uses doesn't
support encrypted connections. Check the Domain Security
Policy and de-activate the "Always secured policy".
