Hello,
I am currently installing zipslack on an older laptop computer and I am having a problem getting it to load. When I first got everything copied onto the HD (had to use laplink--bad floppy drive) I changed the kernal over to bare.i, since I have no scsi devices, by copying bzImage into c:\linux and renaming it vmlinuz. I also copied system.map and config into c:\linux\boot.
The kernal starts to load and runs for a bit, but then I get a series of lines like this:
INIT: version 2.84 booting
INIT: cannot execute "/etc/rc.d/rc.S"
INIT: Entering runlevel:3
INIT: cannot execute "/etc/rc.d/rc.M"
INIT: cannot execute "sbin/agetty"
(this repeats several times)
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutesI have found a reference to changing a line at the top of the inittab file from "/bin/sn" to "-s /bin/bash /bin/sn" or recopying some of the files in question (perhaps there was a transfer error?) Also, I've seen references to editing and saving these files in vi or some other unix editor, but since I can't get into linux is there anyway to do this from dos/win3.1? What else can I do?
Thanks,
Samboe
