Man I installed xmms 1.2.8 over the orginal
version that comes with RH9 in hopes of
fixing the mp3 playback problem. Well, It
plays MP3's suppa fast. I changed the
output driver and tried to play a mp3 again
but now it just locks up. I want to just
completely remove the xmms package and
start over but when I try to do so I get
this annoying error
"error: Failed dependencies:
libxmms.so.1 is needed by
(installed) kdeaddons-3.1-4"
How can I remove xmms without this annoying
message?

Thanks Taurus. Well I re-installed xmms
1.2.8 and yet again, it refuses to play
mp3's. I then removed that and installed
the orginal xmms version that came with
redhat and then installed the mp3 patch,
still, no mp3 playback. THis is beginning
to get irritating. Any suggestions or
advice on something I did wrong?

Well I have xmms 1.2.8 installed but now I
am having the same problem as before. It is
playing the mp3's at a rate of one minute
per second. If I change the output driver,
it will lock up. Joy. Any suggestions?

Hey, I fixed xmms. I removed xmms 1.2.8 and
then re-installed the orginal 1.2.7 package
that came with redhat 9. I then ran the
redhat 9 update and updated ALL packages.
(took a good 2 hours) Anyways, I installed
the mp3 patch and then changed the output
driver. Suddenly everything works again.
Yay!
