No input plugin detected. Can anyone help me with this message. I got the same error with RedHat Linux 7.2, but now that I got 7.3 running with the New version of Xine and still get the same message when I try to run DVD's. I have an Inspiron 8100 42GB HD, DVD/RW, Nvidia Go video 32MB, 256MB 133Mhz Ram 1.13Ghz PIII, Dual Battery, running Duel boot Win XP with Red Hat 7.3.

Do you have the dvdnav input plugin installed. Load that (do a google seacrh). You cannont just push "play". You have to select the "dvdnav" or "d4d" button at the bottom of the GUI before hitting play. Did you check the XINE faq? It's in there.

I haven't had time to play with Xine lately, But I still have got it to play DVD's yet or VOB files. I might get some time this weekend. Any other tips or sites to read would be very much appreciated. Thank You for all your help.

I meant to say I haven't gotten it to work yet. I played with xine some more and got it to read from the drive. I think it will work with certain DVD's, but it's not reading DVD's with *.vob files. I decide to try the mplayer and got that to install with out any problems, but I get an audio error when I try to play DVD's *.vob files. I guess I'm more of a beginner than I thought.

I was wrong, the audio error was from a file I was trying to play not the DVD.
