When I issue the startx command, I get the following error message:

Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list.

Then I get:

Could not open default font fixed

So what did I clobber?? And is this easy to correct??

What distribution are you using?
Have you try the "init 5" command?
Have you try the "Xconfigurator" command (note the caps X)?
Have you install all the fonts in your system?
send more information to help you.
