Name: MicrosoftMAN
I have a Gentoo machine which was using XF86Config and working perfectly with XF86Config
but now my system uses Xorg after Gentoo appearntly updated to it by it self because of my cron job emerge -uD world and now I can't use X without it looking awful.
I have tried xorgconfig, Xorg -configure, and even trying to use my XF86Config with X.org and they all failed.
I have an LCD monitor at 1280x1024 H:63.98KHz V:60.02Hz. Xorg -configure gets mad loading the i810 driver and says it is once-only.
I can use the mouse and keyboard nicely but the picture is extremly noisy. I have adam.250free.com/xorg.conf and adam.250free.com/Xorg.0.log. I hope this can be solved, I have been playing with this for hours with no luck at all.Live by God, and by God only.

What's wrong with the picture? Have you tried using xorgconfig and specifying refresh rate and sync range manually? Does your problem affect all resolutions? More details about "Xorg -configure" failing might help too.

Well basically it just says it can't load i810 because it is a once-only module. No idea what that meant.
Also, I specified excatly what I thought that rates would be according to my monitor's manual.
For some odd reason, it keeps going odd.
It should try the highest resolution now, but now it looks like 800x640. I have tried every known way to configure Xorg, even using my old XF86Config file, and nothing wants to work.
I also tried "LCD 1280x1024" which basically did nothing. I don't understand. My friend has an LCD with Xorg and our config files are very similar, and he doesn't have this much problem.
Someone said to try the fbdev driver but it failed because of /dev/fb0 not existing.
I really don't know what to do. This is the third day without X. Console is ok, but I like a GUI for clients. Then CLI's off the GUI.Live by God, and by God only.
