Hi there,

has anybody an idea, how I could transform the binary wtmp file into a readable (for me) ASCII Format for analyzing purposes?
Thaks a lot.

Hi Danny!

Yes, I know the last command. But it shows me only the last logged in users. I wanted to have a look at any System Messages. Or are they only in /var/log/messages?

Bye

wtmp contain shell/telnet/ftp connections only. other messages are in /var/log/messages or /var/log/secure
