I have a Linux box which as the gateway on my home network. Everytime works perfectly, but now i tried to add a printer. The printer works fine locally, but i want to share it with my WinXp machines. THe problem is, i can see my Linux samba share, but everytime i try to log to it, it prompts me for username and password. I already created the same user i use on my WInxp machines in my Linux box, but no go still. I browsed the forums and someone said about a registry patch, which i did, and still i get the same problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thxs

does it ask for U/P for IPC? the problem is that samba might not be reading your UNIX users. Try adding guest only = yes to your printer share, or guest account = nobody
