Windows XP reinstall. Lost Linux

Comment:
I was recently forced to reinstall Windows XP due to a system crash and since then I've not been able to access Linux. The dual boot menu no longer comes up at startup. I know Linux is still installed as the partitions remain the same. Anyone know how I might boot Linux without having to reinstall?

Usually when you install WinXP on a dual boot system it overwrites the Master Boot Record. The steps to get it back depends of the Linux OS you have. If it is SuSE you can boot the system with CD 1 and use the repair option under manual installation. For others you could also boot with the first CD and use the repair option. Without knowing the Linux distro it is not easy to give you proper directions.
Let us know the Distro you have installed on your PC and the boot loader.

I'm using Fedora Core 2. The boot loading I'm not sure of. It's whatever the default for FC2 is.
signatures are dumb :P

Follow to steps to install Bootloader
1. Boot the linux cd
2.At boot prompt give " linux resue "
3.After some testing , it will go terminal
give following commands there
> chroot /mnt/sysimage > grub-install /dev/hda (lilo) - if u want to use LILO
after this it shouls show , grub installed succesfully with no errors. Then u exit
