I`ve just installed redhat 8 and I am using kde. I heard that you can run windows xp in a linux window. If that`s true can someone tell me how?. thanks in advance

unsure aboutthat but i believe u can run ur windws programs in linux using an emulatore called WINE. itll run alot of progs of win's in linux. u can also get ur files off of ur xp 2 run but mounting ur xp partition. winehq.com or win4lin wine is free and runs alot. a 3rd alternative is VMware. its emulation and wont as clean as it would in xp. i ran mirc in linux and the txt was way hard 2 read use at r own risk. l8r man maybe someoen else will have an opinion but redhat comes iwth wine. its tyhe emu of choice. l8r

for you information WINE IS NOT AN EMULATOR...thats what W.I.N.E stands for...its is a windows compatability layer which can execute binaries compiled for windows...

I have had windows me running in mandrake using win4lin its a pretty cool program but i only used it for evaluation purposes so i didnt go in for the long haul but if anyone else has any feedback on it i would love to hear about it.
