hello, my HP laptop had windows xp but it crashed a few times and so the person who fixes it, installed windows 7. So I am quite new to this, I got it back recently, actually im using it right now, the problem is that my screen is wide, Im trying to fix the display settings and i searched for answers and I guess i did everything except that the screen is till wide. Does anyone know how to adjust the width and height?

You COULD go and adjust the display settings on the bottom of your monitor. IF there is.

Another idea is to go through widows they have a exe file for it!

You should ask this question in a Windows forum. This is a Linux forum, and since I do not use Windows, I am poorly equipped to help.

There might be a bios option to fix it.

The problem with windows 7 is it doesn't support older hardware. Worse yet if you bypass warnings and install non-hcl drivers. They are tough to get out.

Call that guy and tell him to put xp back on. Otherwise windows 7 will stop in a short while.

Might consider a linux distro if you don't have the original xp disk anymore or a hidden partition to recover it.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
