Win2k dual boot (nt loader on mbr)

Comment:
I installed Mandrake 7.2 and made a copy of the first 512 bytes of my linux partition (where lilo is installed) and put a pointer to it in my boot.ini. When I select linux from the NT loader lilo locks up and displays "LI" in the upper left corner of the screen. How do I fix this and get linux to boot?

When LILO sends only 'LI' it cannot found the /boot directory un the linux partition. you can use 'loadlin' in a bootable DOS disk with a 'vmlinuz' image to enter at the Linux partition and type 'lilo' in the shell. This will reinstall the lilo and you can enter to the linux partition throught the MBR and configure it from your linux.
