We got linux to run on my computer, but it's been a while. Is the newer ones to power hungry for my computer?

Gateway E-3200 P2 350mhz, 320 sdram, 3 pci (one in use by the modem) winmodem but we got that to work with a bit of finigiling, 1 isa shared with pci slot.

Also I was wondering, is it feasible to erase in particular rpgs that are saved in the root folder? They seem to consume a lot of space, but our main needs for computer is just a web browser and a text editor? In other words linux without the bloat.

Thanx

Any distro would do, only install what you need.

btw, Linux is not bloated, your system may be.

You should be fine with that spec....you may wish to consider using a lightweight window manager like xfce of fluxbox instead of kde or gnome....especially if you are only using it for web browsing, in fact you could even get it to boot straight into a full screen browser and use that as your shell.
