i have an old laptop that i am going to stuff as many os's as i can, it is an 486sx 33, with 8 mgs of ram. Also it need to be able to be intslled from floppy

Does this laptop have network support? Many non-commercial unix flavors have network intall support. I know there are lots of linux flavors with a minimal footprint but try looking at redhat 6.2.

no network, and it only has a 500 meg harddrive, so peanut wont work, but thanks for the help

I strongly recommend you to upgrade your RAM.
Just try and old Linux distro release such as Red Hat Linux 6.2

I recomend debian over any version of linux. I have it running on a old 386 with a 33mhz proccesor. It is in my humble opinion the best distro in existance. Not as user friendly as redhat but well worth it.
