Hi,
I'm a newbie and would like to know which books should i start using to aid me in my Linux quest !
Thanx

go to www.linux.org.
They give you a great selection of books for each linux distribution. A lot of people like to start out with Mandrake but I suggest Red Hat. Really depends on if you just plan on using it for an operating system or for more technical means. If it's the first choice get mandrake. Hope this helps.

www.linux.org has all of the HOW-TOs, as well as many books and guides online.
As far as printed material goes:
Running Linux, by Matt Welsh O'Reilly Press- probably the most recommended bok for Newbies.
Mastering Linux, by Arman Danesh Sybex Press- a very good overview of all things Linux. It also includes a good command-reference section.
UNIX Power Tools O'Reilly Press (are you getting the idea that the O'Reilly books are where it's at? ;) )- don't let the "UNIX" scare you, it's packed with useful info for a user of any *NIX OS, including Linux.

Depends on what you're background is. Most of the books by O'Reilly are very good, but written more for those with Unix/Solaris experience. If you have that experience, go for it.
If you have more Windows 9x/MSDOS experience, linuxdoc.org has a large document on Linux for DOS users.
If you're experience is more Win NT/2000, Mark Minasi (WinNT/2000 guru) has a book called "Linux for the Windows NT/2000 Administrator". Great starting place for those used to server products from the Evil Empire of Redmond because it gets at the admin and functionality of Linux from a perspective you understand. Do a search on bookpool.com, they had the best price last time I looked, and it comes with Mandrake 7.1.
HTH
