I was thinking to setup a proxy server on Red Hat 7 for testing purposes. I have heard of Squid but that's about it. I need a proxy server that can use authentication -- i.e. if someone tries to access a web page they will be prompted for a login/password. Does squid have this capability and is it difficult to setup and configure? Also if you are familiar with another Proxy server software that is freely available please let me know. I am currently using Microsoft Proxy 2.0 -- but I would prefer to have a linux option.

Thanks,

Jon
