I here alot about mandrake9.1 so i.m doing this post...
What make's mandrake so great over other OS?
I used it for 2 days and drop because:
- The Font Was just crap
- Samba wouldnt run it lock up the computerIs the new 9.1 alot better and can I load other fonts if I dont like them? Will the screen be much clearer now?
Yes i'm looking for a Nicer OS then redhat the only thing its got going is it fonts and vary clear screens...you have no control on programs being installed

Ive been using 9.1 since it beta'd. Its much better, loads of bug and appearance fixes. 9.1 is going final in a couple of weeks, so if you dont have broadband, i suggest you wait to download it.
Its real easy to change the fonts in KDE now, just go into the KDE config menu.
I havent used Samba, so I cant tell you. Check out Mandrakes site, they have a list of changes for every package, so check Samba to see if you problem was fixed.
Mandrake is better(IMO)becuase its easy to set up and configure, comes with a load of packages and drivers, its stable, and your able to do more advanced things on it if you want to. :)

I second that! I have used Mandrake 9.0 and Redhat 8.0 and I found that Mandrake came with many packages that Redhat did not have. You can always go and install those packages manually but Mandrake takes the hassel out of doing so. I found both to be very stable.
Mike

If you like stability as top priority then use RedHat.
If you want to use a Linux distros which needs little resources, then use Slackware or Debian
