ARG!

I've been having some problems with Mandrake 9, most recent of which my system is slow, and Ksysgaurd claims that X is using 285 megs of ram(more then I have). It's not the first problem I've had with Mandrake 9 either.

Anyhow, I was wondering what the best non-mandrake distro would be for me. I am a Gnome fan, I don't use KDE, and I prefer the distro to have some sort of wizards and central control panel, and Gnome 2 needs to be included.

Any ideas?

Mandrake 9 is very good for desktop,
if you really want another distro, go in
for redhat 8

RH8 is a good solid platform and it features gnome. It will do everything you want. Also it is well supported.

Yeah, no doubt. Red Hat is better than Mandrake.
Download it for free/Buy it for about $34.99 (including CDs, DVD and docs). Or just buy a book about Red Hat. Most of them includes RHL. www.redhat.com
