ok. i installed all this on an 80gig hdrive. hda1 is windows xp(25gig) hda2 is /boot for Redhat8 hda3 is ext3(redhats native) hda4 is swap for rh8. hda 5 is /(for drake9)(ext3) hda6 is swap(i know i dont need tat LOL) ok with drake9 it used lilo(bootloader)duh hehe on the mbr and now lilo bots showing XP and mandrake9 i hafat edit the lilo.conf and add the redhat at hda3 etc. well i did that and it added linux-0 as def name (thats ok) but when it begins 2 load the redhat it akss for like /lib/mandrake2.4.19 all mandrake stuff. luckily drake9 has a (boot)gui in it so i looked i am using vmlinuz boot and the initrd is vmlinuz still it finds the hda3 img of redhat but wants to boot drakes stuff. noooooo. do u think the vmlinux for rh8 in hda2 (/boot) has been taken over by drake thus leading it to boot drake but find the .img of rh8? help me pls. i still have the oriinal conf incase it get wacko. pls help maybe i made it to complicated but xp and rake 9 r fine i just wantyed to add hda3(rh8) hich the vmlinuz may now be drakes :-( pls help.

Not sure how well this will work, but you may have to specify root= for each linux entry in lilo.conf instead of leaving it global. Then you will need to experiment with whether it is necessary to have a copy of both kernel images on the same partition (i.e., the one you are using to play with lilo). I'm not sure how lilo references the boot path realtive to the current partition (when lilo is ran) or relative to the root device specified...
