hi
i have just started with linux(redhat 8)
so i had some problems
1. how can i use my web cam.
2. how can i watch movies.
3. can i use yahoo msngr and if i can how
(since i've just started could u be more elaborate)

umm...

the second and the third are easy. You can use MPlayer or xine to play (and encode!) movies.

You can use gaim to chat on all popular IM services including yahoo, msn, icq, AIM.

You can get MPlayer from mplayerhq.hu and you can get gaim from gaim.sourceforge.net

You can get rpm packages for both at rpmfind.net (just search for them and download the redhat ones)

For the webcams, you have to tell me what kind/what make the webcam is. There is V4L (video for linux) interface in the linux kernel but devices not supported by the V4L interface will probably not work.
