Hi all.
My VmWare installation causes sometimes a funny problem, when networking is ok from the emulation machine on vmware, linux result offline. If I uninstall vmware that goes ok for linux and netorking back up again. If I reinstall vmware network from linux becomes unreachable. Vmware last version, as well as Linux. Anyone of you ever occured the same ?

How is your vmware networking set up? Bridged, NAT etc?

Nat. How should I expect to find the vmnet virtual network adapter configured ?
IT looks like in the configuration script it mess up the addresses, altough the virtual machine network is ok (for connection but no telnets)
the ip of my virtual machine is different from the ip of the master host. is it correct ? should I see it as the ip of the vmnet ?
thanks in advance
Max.

If it is NATed, the ip on the vmware install will be completely different to the host system. Try selecting bridged networking and either allow the vmware install to pick up an IP from a DHCP server (if one is running on your network) or set the IP in manually (which will need to be different to the host system but on the same subnet.

Thank you for the moment, the problem looks like fixed. Altough now it works, sometimes the host machine went offline after a while like a couple of days. do you mind if I write you directly next time - if even - it will fails ?
thanx in advance
