Hi, I recently installed Fedora 5 on the VMware Workstation. Now, I was wondering how do I view the other hard drives on my system? When I click on filesystem, it only shows the linux directories..like in "my computer"on xp, it shows the partitions you have.I am a linux newbie so any advice would be appreciated!
p/s: Linux is So powerful!!!

If you are running Fedora in VMWare Workstation, you are running it in a virtual machine. As far as Fedora is concerned, it is installed on its own separate computer. There is a user manual available for VMWare Workstation. If the OS in the VM can access the physical drives on the host computer, there should be direction in the manual. I do not use VMWare Workstation here. I use Virtual Disk to run Windows XP in a VM and I have no need to access my host drives from the VM. My production OS is Mandriva Linux 2007.1 (Spring).

You could (and maybe should) access them with samba shares. \\hostmachineip\sharename.

The other way is what ernie suggests. VMware does offer a shared folder which they caution one about using.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
