i've noticed that everytime i try to play music using xmms and browse through web pages with flash movies on them at the same time (using mozilla), the browser takes a long time to load the page or doesn't load it at all. but when i stop xmms playing the page loads again. weird. anyone had this problem before?

Yes. It happens because both programs (xmms and flash plugin) are trying to access the system's sound at the same time. Xmms is using it and flash more or less locks up because it can't open the audio. As soon as you close xmms, the browser should display the page almost instantly. I think there are ways to fix this, by using different sound drivers or something, but I've never tried.

Look in the Mozilla bug database (at mozilla.org). It could have some workarounds.
