Hi,
Can anyone help me out, I have a Veo Stingray webcam. I really need to figure out how to get it to work in linux, I thought the cam was supported it turns out that two other versions of the cam are, but not mine, mine has a different product id, and revision number the product id is '0808a', revision number is '3.0c', the vendor id is of course the same isn't there a way that I can modify the ibmcam driver to work with this cam the way the other two do. I'm not a c programmer, but with help I could get this. If anyone has this cam setup, or they know how please help ..
If you need more info let me know .
Also does anyone know how many different versions of this cam there are ?

Hi.
I don't know if you got this working yet, but there is something you ought to give a shot at first, then I have another solution.
I have read around that some people have simply changed the product id number that is in the ibmcam source and like majic, the thing works.
Secondly,
Right now, today 9/29/2001...Compusa is selling a PC Cam for $14.99.
That camera works!
Before plugging in...and as root...
Install Xaxtv
type this command at the shell...modprobe ibmcam
Then plug the camera in...
type this command at the shell xawtv -noxv
As root in KDE do to the /dev file and right click on video0 and chage the permissions to read for everybody...so you can run as a regular user.
And you are golden!
