I have 3 computers.. 2 PCs and 1 laptop, and I use my newer PC all the time and my laptop every so ofen.. but my 3rd computer, I rarely rarely use.. I was thinking about using it jut as a server.. I've heared that Linux is the best OS to use for this, and I got the Disc for Mandrake 9.1..

Would that be a good Linux OS to use? I dont really wanna run out and pay $100 just to set a small server up.. and how would I go about this? I've hardly ever used linux but I have installed it before to check it out and I think.. I remember seing an optiont o install server not, not sure..

How many discs have you got for mandrake?
As far as I remember v9.1 came on 3 CDs.
You can install with just the first CD but
you wont have all the programs available to
you.

If that doesn't work for you there are free alteratives at linuxiso.org. Some disto's are made just for the purpose of servers.
