I am somewhat new to Linux, but i heard that it was a very good server. Well, i installed Corel Linux OS 2 and messed around a little and finally decided to install it fully as a server. I did this. However, i was wondering if anybody could give me directions or point me to some web pages or guides on to set it up as the Server for a network comprised of: itself, Windows ME, Windows 95, *Possibly* Windows 3.1, and *Possibly* Win2K Pro. Well, I already have the Windows ME and 95 networked fine, but i want to take advantage of all the benifits of having the server. If this is not possible, or is too difficult to obtain on the little to no Linux knowledge i have, then i will just go without it. Well, anyway, thanks for helping.

Nearly everything is possible with linux ! Probably you want to use the linux box as a file server with the Samba package.
There are lot of other services in which linux will be better than the Microsoft products: Mail server (sendmail or postfix), web server (Apache or Tux), Name server (BIND8), router, firewall (netfilter with iptables) etc etc etc...Install the packets you want and read the manpages, eg. 'man samba'.
Read the HOWTOs. There are tons of documentation, every windows user would dream of.Take a look at
http://linux.corel.com/supporthttp://www.linuxstart.com
http://www.linuxnewbie.orgI think Corel linux maybe not the best distro for a server, you may want to try SuSE or Red Hat !
SuSE is simply the best.

You can actually set it up as a PDC using samba 2.2.*. You can get this and read the howtos at www.samba.org

here's an online book you can download to help setup Samba it heled me tremendously
