I am told that this is the way to do it;
please undertstand that i use SuSE and have
YAST so i don't have to do it this way.
edit /etc/printcap with an entry for a winprinter;
winprint:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
: sd=/var/spool/lpd/winprint:\
: mx#0:\
: sh:\
: if=/usr/local/samba/bin/smbprint:
(Note: These entries may have to be modified if you have installed samba elsewhere. also
make sure thatthe lpd line reads as is.)
now cd /var/spool/lpd/printername ; touch .config ; cat > .config and enter the
following or a facs thereof;
server = winbox(servername)
service = winprint (printname)
password = pw
play with thi and let me know how it works.
i use yast and though my config looks similar to this it is not exactly the same.
good luck.
