Hi all. I have the 2.4.x redhat kernel running on my webserver. Currently, I use my windoze pc running webcam32 to ftp my webcam pic to my webserver. I'd like to have my USB-webcam hooked up to my linux webserver, thus eliminating having to use my pc for capturing the webcam.

I have video4linux compiled in the kernel. What else do I need ? I can't find a "HOW-TO" or anything similiar. How do you mount a usb-webcam ? Instructions appreciated.

Also: I verified I have USB support compiled in the kernel.

I found the Vendor/Device ID on the internet...

LG Model LPC-U30 Vendor# 043e Device 8484

What do you do with this data ? put it in the hotplug /etc/hotplug/usb.usermap ?

When I try and start xawtv it cannot find /dev/video0 ...

There's got to be an easy way to use a webcam with Linux !
