Hello all,

I am going to attempt to upgrade a Windows 2000 OS to Windows XP on a system that is dual booting with Fedora core 4. Both OS's are on separate physical disks. Before I mess up anything I had a few questions. Has anyone had any experience doing this? Will upgrading affect the boot loader on Linux? Right now the Linux boot loader takes priority over the Windows boot loader. I do not want to damage the Linux OS and still require the ability to dual boot.

Well, I guess I will have to answer my own post here. I decided to go ahead and give it a try after backing up the system. Turned out that Fedora 3 not 4 was installed. Windows is installed on Pri. Master and Fedora on Sec. Master. The Windows upgrade went on without a hitch. The Windows installer did not interfere or make any changes to the GRUB. Both OS's are working fine with no errors at this time.

I hope this helps anyone else who had questions about this.

Mike
